- The TF Mini LiDAR is a one-way laser range finder based on time-of-flight technology (ToF). It consists of special optical and electronic equipment, and integrates an adaptation algorithm for various indoor and outdoor application environments. The radar is small in size but excellent in ranging performance. It can be used as a distance measuring tool to detect the distance of the obstacle in front; it can also be used as the eye of the robot to provide distance information for the safe obstacle avoidance and route selection of the robot; in various machine control scenarios, support the automation of the system; because of its volume Small, lightweight and low power consumption, it is also suitable for drone height and terrain tracking.
- TF Mini has a maximum detection range of 12m, supports 100Hz sampling resolution, 6m accuracy within 6m, 6~12m, accuracy within 6cm, FOV field of view 2.3degree, strong anti-interference, and can work under outdoor glare The overall weight is as light as 4.7g.
- TF Mini LiDAR uses UART (TTL) communication interface, can be powered by standard 5V, average power consumption of 0.6W, compatible with various controllers.
Note:
- Products that detect high-reflectivity objects, such as mirrors and smooth tiles, run the risk of failure.

This is the worlds smallest and cheapest lidar units. Using the time of flight ranging principle, the TFmini is able to achieve 100Hz range updates, with an accuracy of about 5mm (indoors) with a range of up to 12m indoors, or about 8m outdoors. All this in a package similar to the size of an AA battery with a weight of just 10g.
Essentially this is the same size and similar cost as many ultrasonic rangefinders, but has significantly better performance. The TFmini communicates over UART that is compatible with many systems including pixhawk, etc... The TFmini uses advanced algorithms to automatically adjust to indoor/outdoor environments to always ensure you are getting good ranging performance. This unit runs on 5V, and has a peak current of 800mA with a FOV of 2.3degree.
